ARTIST BIO
Hi, I'm Precious. I'm an Army brat, a preacher's kid, the first born daughter and eldest sibling, and an Aquarius! I was born in Germany, but spent most of my childhood in the southern US (North Carolina and Georgia). Art has always been a big part of my life. From a young age, I was constantly drawing and creating—it’s something that’s always felt natural to me. Though I took a break from art during college and into my early adulthood, I found my way back in 2019, sketching pencil portraits for family and friends. This rediscovery reminded me just how much I love capturing the unique character in each face. By 2020, I’d expanded into watercolor painting, finding new excitement in the vibrant, unpredictable nature of the medium.
My work celebrates Afro-centric beauty with a playful, whimsical touch. I love creating colorful portraits that highlight big hair and expressive features, using my art to honor Black culture and encourage appreciation for people of color.
Today, I live in Perry Hall, Maryland, with my husband of 15 years, our two sons, and around 50 houseplants. Art continues to be a big part of my life, and I love sharing pieces that bring joy and reflect a sense of cultural pride.
